$6k and Counting!

I just wanted to update everyone about the fundraiser results.  People have continued to give donations to this worthy cause and I am happy to announce that we have now reached the original goal of raising $6000!!  And others are also still planning to donate that haven't had a chance yet!  How amazing that we are actually surpassing the goal amount!

We had a very successful Fundraiser last night at the Hilton!  It was a really fun evening and for a very worthy cause!  A huge thank you goes out to all the wonderful people who helped with this effort, and especially a huge thanks to GOD for His blessings in this work!

The money has been counted.... $5800 was raised for the Rowe family!  We spoke with them on the phone today to give them the good news.  They are overwhelmed by everyone's generosity and so very grateful!

Meet the Family

On Saturday you had a chance to see the sweet children this fundraiser will help.  Now we would like to introduce you to the awesome family that will welcome them home!

This is Tim and Janice Rowe of North Carolina, soon to be Mommy and Daddy to Masha and Christopher!  This Christian couple have big hearts and so much love to give.  In fact, this is not the first time they have opened their hearts and home to adoption.  Sacred Selections recently helped with their adoption of Gideon from China.  He now has a wonderful Mom and Dad!  And...

Brothers and sisters!

These are Tim and Janice's daughters, Schuyler, Kiersten, and Georgia. 

And these are their sons, Evan, Gideon, and Grayson. 

What an amazing blessing that Masha and Christopher will be surrounded with so much love!

Meet the Children

This Sacred Selections Fundraiser will provide funding to a family that is adopting two beautiful children from Eastern Europe.  We would like to introduce you to the two little sweeties you have the opportunity to help.

This is "Masha."  Check out that smile!  She is four and a half years old, and her family is on a rescue mission for her.  She has Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and a few other related complications.  Because she wasn't "perfect" she was actually scheduled to be sent to a mental institution to spend the rest of her life when she turned four last January- with no further hope of ever having parents.  But a Christian family has stepped forward to save her!  And she is waiting at the orphanage until they travel at the end of October to get her.

This is "Christopher."  He is 14 months and has Down Syndrome.  (The same age as our Abigail!)  This is a rescue mission on his part as well.  He is left in his crib at the orphanage all day long, for hours on end.  No one picks him up for hugs or to play.  But at the end of October, he is going to know the arms of a loving mother and father!

What an amazing opportunity we have to be a part of helping these two children to grow up in a loving Christian home.  Their life stories are going to be dramatically different because this great Christian family stepped forward, and because of donations from Christians like you!

2011 Charity Fundraiser

As was revealed yesterday, Sacred Selections is hosting a fundraising event on Friday October 14th at 6:30PM in Lexington.  We are now excited to announce the great location for our event!  Start making your plans to enjoy a fantastic night at the Ballroom of the Hilton at Lexington Green! 

This will truly be a special evening, with a dinner catered by the Hilton, a silent auction full of fun items, and of course an opportunity to learn more about Sacred Selections and become a part of this amazing work.  The proceeds from this event will create an adoption grant that helps bring two beautiful children into their "forever family."

Sacred Selections is in Lexington KY!

Christians in the Lexington area are coming together to support this great work very soon! Sacred Selections is an amazing non-profit charity created by David and Dana Carrozza, who are members of the church of Christ.  The organization raises money from individual Christians, and gives it to other Christian couples who need financial assistance with the dream of adoption.  Explaining how Sacred Selections was founded, Dana says,

"After years of hearing young families lament that they could not afford an adoption and at the same time people wanting to know how they could help the adoptive families…. It occurred to us….

Why not start a foundation?

A foundation that would be totally separate from the Church.

A foundation that would be a certified non-profit tax free foundation.

A foundation whose oversight (Board) would be by members of the Lord’s Church.

A foundation that would Finance the adoptions for members of the Church.

A foundation that people could give their monies to confident that it would  go to place children in the homes of members of The Church of Christ.
